Cataloger Brian Burke Auctions Meshoppen, PA 18630 Hiring a cataloger for part-time working toward full-time with benefits eventually for Brian Burke Auctions.
Skills:
Attention to detail, research ability, familiarity with collectibles and antiques (e.g., vintage toys, coins, art, furniture).
Experience:
Prior cataloging, museum/archive work, auction house experience, antique dealer, or eBay/Etsy seller Tap into Local & Online Communities Post in: Local historical societies and antique stores Museums or libraries (many catalogers have worked there) Facebook Groups focused on antiques or niche collectibles Reddit subs: r/Antiques, r/FleaMarketFlip, r/Vintage Leverage Professional Networks Ask for referrals from: Antique shop owners Auctioneers Estate sale professionals Appraisers or historians Partner with Educational Institutions Reach out to local universities/colleges with: Art history, library science, or museum studies departments Internship or job placement offices Use a Skills Test or Trial Project Have applicants: Write sample catalog descriptions Identify and describe 2-3 items (photos provided) Research and cite values from reference sources or online markets
