This full-time position plays a central role in delivering engaging educational experiences to museum visitors throughout the day. Responsibilities include leading interactive story times; portraying a costumed character to greet and delight guests; facilitating hands-on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) programs for children and families; and, helping the team keep the museum floor safe and engaging. Responsibilities Deliver a variety of daily education programs that promote curiosity, creativity, and playful learning for children ages 0-8 and their caregivers. Lead lively and engaging story times using books, props, and songs. Dress in a costumed character outfit to greet museum guests and pose for photos, contributing to a fun and welcoming environment. Facilitate hands-on activities and educational workshops that align with CML’s learning goals and exhibit themes. Collaborate with education and visitor services staff to ensure a seamless and joyful experience for all guests. Assist with setup and cleanup of materials, maintain program supplies, and support safe and inclusive play in exhibit areas. Represent the museum with enthusiasm and professionalism to all visitors, partners, and colleagues. Experience Proven experience in public speaking or presenting in a professional setting. Background in public health, social work, or related fields is highly desirable. Familiarity with program development processes and best practices. Experience in data collection methodologies and analysis techniques. Skills in fundraising strategies and donor engagement are a plus. Proficiency in social media management to enhance outreach efforts. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. A collaborative mindset with experience working in team environments.
