The Motorsports Hall of Fame of America is a 20,000 sq. ft. museum located at the iconic Daytona International Speedway. Our museum honors the legends of American motorsports through immersive exhibits and rare artifacts. We welcome over 100,000 visitors each year who come to celebrate the achievements of our inductees.
Position Overview
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Assistant Operations Manager to help lead the daily operations of our museum, assist in exhibit management, and ensure a top-notch visitor experience. This is an exciting opportunity to combine a love for motorsports history with leadership and operations management in a world-renowned facility. Responsibilities
Museum Operations & Leadership
- Oversee daily operations to ensure smooth and efficient functioning
- Maintain a welcoming and organized environment for guests
Exhibit Management & Curation - Assist with the maintenance and development of exhibits
- Inventory and coordinate layout of exhibit vehicles and assets
- Assist with transport and general maintenance of vehicles and artifacts
- Handle vendor, contractor, and facility communications
- Support weekly operations meetings and upkeep of display cases
Staff & Volunteer Management - Supervise and support staff and volunteers
- Provide training and assist as needed in day-to-day responsibilities Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
Experience & Skills:
- Basic automotive knowledge
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Comfortable using hand and power tools
- Strong leadership, organizational, and customer service skills
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on ladders (6-10 ft)
- Willingness to learn and operate specialty equipment (e.
g., car movers, compressors)
Preferred:
- Knowledge of motorsports history
- Connections in the racing community
- Experience with retail merchandising
- Self-starter attitude Schedule & Expectations
- Full-time role; some weekends and evenings required
- Occasional travel to events or for deliveries
