This is a full-time position located at the Capitol Park Museum in Baton Rouge, LA.
Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree plus four years of museum or curatorial experience; OR
A master’s degree in museum studies, a humanities field, education, or fine arts plus three years of museum or curatorial experience; OR
A Ph.D. in museum studies, a humanities field, education, or fine arts plus two years of museum or curatorial experience.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
The Regional Museum Division Director supervises the operations, and coordinates the exhibits, publicity, and community programming and outreach of the Louisiana State Museum-Capitol Park, Thibodaux, Natchitoches, and Patterson, working under the direction of the Office of State Museum’s Assistant Secretary and Deputy Assistant Secretary.
This position will be filled as an internal promotion; you must be a current permanent employee of the Department of Culture, Recreation & Tourism, serving in a Classified position, in order to qualify.
Position-Specific Details:
Coordinates, supervises, and manages the operations of regional sites, overseeing a staff comprised of administrative and curatorial.
Actively seeks to increase awareness and engagement of the Museum within the greater cultural, academic, and philanthropic communities.
Plans, organizes, and coordinates curatorial functions for Community Programs and Collections of regional sites working in consultation with the LSM Interpretive Services, Education, and Collections Division Director.
Prepares management reports such as budget proposals, personnel, operational activities, and vehicle use.
