This instructor will travel to licensed childcare centers in the area and deliver joyful, interactive music sessions using age-appropriate instruments and movement-based activities. Responsibilities Design and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that align with early childhood music education standards. Create a positive classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and learning. Assess and document children’s progress, adapting teaching methods to meet individual needs. Collaborate with parents and caregivers to support children’s development and address any concerns. Participate in curriculum development activities, ensuring inclusivity for all learners, including those with special needs.

Use hands-on instruments:

pianos, percussion (shakers, rhythm sticks), xylophones, drums , etc. Encourage musical exploration through singing, clapping, movement, games, and rhythm-based play Set up and break down simple classroom music setups Collaborate with Bluekeys administration to follow curriculum and share feedback Communicate professionally with childcare staff and maintain a warm, respectful teaching environment Ensure safety and positive behavior management during each session Requirements High school diploma or equivalent ( required ) 1+ year experience working with children ages 2-5 (preschool, daycare, enrichment, etc.) Proficiency with basic music instruments: keyboard, hand percussion, xylophones, glockenspiels Fun, energetic, patient, and great with young children Strong classroom presence and ability to teach independently in a childcare setting Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between local sites Must pass a background check Legally authorized to work in the U.S. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with Orff or Kodály teaching methods (child-centered, music-play-based instruction) First Aid/CPR certification ECE coursework or music education training Schedule Flexible weekday hours Final teaching schedule is based on partnering childcare center availability Sessions typically fall between 11:30 PM – 2:30 PM , with potential to expand to other time slots Compensation Starting at $22.00/hour (includes instruction, setup, and breakdown) Mileage reimbursement provided for travel between teaching locations Opportunities for pay increases as program expands Join us in making a difference in the lives of young learners by providing them with the foundational skills they need for lifelong success!
