Are you excellent in customer service? Perhaps you’re a mom or dad looking for part-time work while your children are in school? At Mommy Wants a Break, we believe in a playful and active approach to learning. We understand that play and learning go hand in hand, and our “whole child” approach helps children build strong motor and social skills that prepare them for school—all while having fun! Parents and caregivers attend classes with their children ages 0 to 5 as they explore unique songs, play instruments, and engage in games.

  • There are 3 core programs:
  • Play & Learn Classes:
  • Engage in age-appropriate play activities that include custom-designed play equipment, songs, parachute play, and bubbles.
  • Music Classes:
  • Enjoy instrument activities, singing, dancing, and exploring a variety of music styles from around the world. Candidates do not need to be able to read music or play instruments—just have a good sense of rhythm!
  • Art Classes:
  • Offer hands-on, process-oriented activities such as painting, sculpting, and collage-making, along with movement activities and songs that support the various art themes explored.
  • RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Programming
  • Facilitate engaging and interactive classes for moms and their little ones.
  • Create and implement lesson plans that cater to the developmental needs of children ages 0 to 5.
  • Incorporate age-appropriate activities, songs, and play that encourage bonding and learning.
  • Organize themed events and special sessions to enhance community engagement.
  • Sales/Customer Service
  • Foster a welcoming atmosphere for all participants.
  • Provide information to moms about classes, merchandise, and events, ensuring a positive experience.
  • Handle inquiries via phone and in person, responding to questions and assisting with registrations.
  • Participate in outreach activities to grow the community and attract new members.
  • Operations
  • Maintain a clean and organized space for classes and activities.
  • Assist with set-up and take-down of equipment and materials for sessions.
  • Attend training sessions and staff meetings as needed.
  • Contribute to social media efforts to promote classes and events, including content creation.
  • KEY SKILLS AND TRAITS
  • A positive attitude and high energy are essential.
  • Experience teaching classes, particularly for young children, is required.
  • Strong communication skills with a focus on customer service.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and create a supportive environment for moms and kids.
  • Creative and adaptable in planning engaging activities.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 lbs.
