Full Job Description Overview:

This dynamic role provides the opportunity to work with students across multiple grade levels in both instructional and support capacities. You will play an important part in fostering a positive, engaging, and safe learning environment through your involvement in STEAM, PE, and Music. Ideal for someone who enjoys variety, collaboration, and making meaningful connections with students, this position offers a well-rounded experience within our K-8 school setting. The finalized master schedule will determine the exact period and grade assignments.

Typical responsibilities:

STEAM Instructor (2 Periods – K-2): Teach two periods of STEAM to K-2 students. Specific grade assignments will be determined by the final schedule. A year-long curriculum will be provided, and you will be responsible for delivering instruction and entering grades. K-2 PE Assistant (2 Periods): Support PE instruction for K-2 students. Classes will be held in a shared space with two classes at a time. You will work under the direction of the PE teacher to assist with activities and supervision. Middle School PE Assistant (2 Periods): Assist the PE teacher with middle school classes, which will also be held with two classes in the same space. You will work under the direction of the PE teacher to assist with activities and supervision. Middle School Music Assistant (1 Period): Provide support to the middle school music teacher during a shared-class period. You will work under the direction of the music teacher to assist with activities and supervision.

Lunch Duty:

Supervise students during lunch, primarily for the K-1 lunch period on a potential daily basis. Occasional coverage for middle school lunch (no more than once a week) may also be required.

Prep:

During the first semester, you will have two 50 minute prep periods to plan for K2 STEAM and meet grading requirements. During the second semester, you will have one 50 minute prep period to plan for K2 STEAM and meet grading requirements. Please note that classroom teachers typically have 1 prep period.
