Job Description
Music & Choir Instructor Georgia Fugees Academy Charter School (GFACS) Georgia Fugees Academy Charter School (GFACS) is seeking an innovative, passionate Music & Choir Instructor who possesses an unwavering commitment to the Fugees Academy mission and the willingness to go above and beyond to meet the needs of students, families, and staff. This role will encompass teaching general music education as well as leading and developing a dynamic choir program that fosters musical excellence, creativity, and community connection.
Required Education, Qualifications, and Experience:
Minimum 2 years of full-time classroom teaching experience, preferably in an urban setting Outstanding instructional skills, including the ability to motivate and challenge students across a range of musical disciplines Excellent command of English, with a passion for supporting expressive language development in non-native speakers Demonstrated expertise in creative, engaging, and culturally relevant music instruction that includes general music theory, instrumental practice, and vocal performance Experience leading and developing choir or vocal ensembles, with a focus on building confidence, teamwork, and musicality Demonstrated ability to create and maintain a warm, structured, and orderly classroom environment Strong personal accountability for student achievement and a belief that all students can achieve success A commitment to building deep, authentic relationships with students and families as a foundation for learning Citizenship, residency, or valid work VISA in the United States required Previous experience working with English Learners (ELs) is a plus
