2025-26 SY Middle School Band Director/Teacher – MMS 3.5 3.5 out of 5 stars 200 Bradwell St, Hinesville, GA 31313

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must hold a valid professional, renewable teaching certificate in K-12 Music Education; Prior experience as an assistant band director/ band director, in music education or participation in a collegiate marching band; Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Prompt and regular attendance. Plans, rehearses and directs musical experiences for band students. Cooperates with the district and school administration in providing music programs for sporting events, school productions, graduation ceremonies and as appropriate, civic functions that enhance the students’ performing experience. Seeks initiates and implements participation of the band and band members in out-of-school band experiences appropriate to the curriculum and student interests. Manages the storage and use of school owned equipment and materials; makes minor adjustments and requests repairs to instruments as required. Develops and implements plans for instrumental music program and show written evidence of preparation as required. Prepares lessons that reflect accommodations for individual student differences. Plans and uses appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned. Creates an environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students. Maintains a music library. Evaluates student performance. Effectively provides instruction to the assigned students. Effectively communicates with parents and students as appropriate. Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities assigned by the supervisor or Superintendent of Schools.

Terms of Employment:

190 -Day Calendar/Salary is commensurate with certification level and verifiable years of experience .
