Job Description:

Arden Cahill Academy is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Part-Time Band Teacher to lead our Middle and High School Band program. We are a small private school located on the Westbank in Gretna. This role is ideal for a passionate music educator who enjoys working with students across a range of skill levels and age groups. The ideal candidate will inspire students, foster a love of music, and build a dynamic and engaging band program.

Key Responsibilities:

Direct and teach middle and high school band classes during the regular school day Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with students’ skill levels and musical goals Prepare students for school performances, concerts, and events throughout the year Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity and teamwork Provide individualized support to students with varying musical abilities and backgrounds Collaborate with school leadership and other fine arts faculty to support cross-disciplinary programs Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and upcoming performances

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or a related field (required) Previous experience teaching band at the middle and/or high school level preferred Proficient in a variety of band instruments (brass, woodwind, and percussion) Classroom management and organizational skills Passion for music and student development Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Additional Opportunities:

In addition to the part-time teaching position, the band teacher will have the opportunity to offer private after-school lessons to students as a way to supplement their salary. These lessons may be scheduled on campus with administrative approval and can serve as a valuable extension of the school’s music program.

Work Schedule:

Part-time position, 1pm-3pm daily Attendance at performances and rehearsals outside of regular school hours may be required
