The ideal candidate will have a strong background in music education, proficiency in vocal and/or instrumental instruction, and a commitment to fostering a dynamic, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver music instruction aligned with state and national standards for middle school students.
Teach general music classes and/or lead instrumental and/or vocal ensembles.
Develop students’ musical skills in performance, theory, composition, and appreciation.
Organize and direct school concerts, performances, and extracurricular music activities.
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student growth and creativity.
Assess and document student progress, providing feedback and communicating with parents/guardians as needed.
Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary initiatives and school events.
Maintain and manage classroom instruments, materials, and equipment.
Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school functions.
Performs related duties as required or assigned.
