DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(Other duties may be assigned)1. Works within the Music Department to develop, plan, and implement a sequentialcurriculum, aligned with the Maine Learning Results, for the grade levels he/she isteaching.2. Develops and presents specific lesson plans, using a variety of means, includinglectures, projects, group discussions, exhibits, field trips, audiovisual and libraryresources, computers and the Internet.3. Prepares and supervises students for public performance experiences.4. Prepares assignments and tests for in-school preparation and homework. Monitors,assists, corrects and grades student performances.5. Maintains order in the classroom, and administers discipline when necessary toachieve proper behavior.6. Shares, with other staff duties in the lunchroom, recess and/or bus arrival/dismissal.7. Develops a variety of assessments to measure student progress. Provides timelyfeedback to students and parents on this work.8. Counsels students when academic difficulties or behavioral problems arise.9. Maintains an inventory of all school owned musical equipment.10. Prepares the budget requests for the building principal for the music program.11.
