Music Teacher Acton School Department 700 Milton Mills Road, Acton, ME 04001 Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Music Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fostering a love of music in students of various ages and backgrounds, utilizing effective teaching methods to enhance their musical skills and appreciation. This role requires strong classroom management abilities, experience working with students, and a commitment to creating an engaging learning environment. Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive music curriculum tailored to the needs of students. Conduct individual and group lessons in various musical disciplines, including but not limited to vocal training, instrument instruction, and music theory. Manage classroom behavior effectively, ensuring a positive and respectful learning atmosphere. Collaborate with other educators to integrate music education into broader school programs. Organize performances and recitals that showcase student progress and foster community engagement. Provide support for special education students by adapting lessons to meet diverse learning needs. Encourage creativity through activities related to dance, theater, and other performing arts. Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with parents regarding their child’s development. Experience Proven experience in classroom management and behavior management techniques. Experience working with students in a music education setting is preferred. Familiarity with ballet, dance, theater, or other performing arts is a plus. Background in curriculum development to create engaging lesson plans that cater to different learning styles. Experience or knowledge in working with preschool-aged children is beneficial. Skills in sewing or other related crafts may be advantageous for integrating creative projects into the curriculum.
