06/18/2025 SUMMARY Closing date: Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until a final candidate has been selected.
Applications submitted for continuous recruitment opportunities will remain active for 6 months. The Music Instructor plans, prepares, and teaches assigned courses in music. The instructor evaluates student progress, maintains necessary records, and submits institutional reports in a timely manner. The work is performed under the supervision of the Dean of Arts and Sciences.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides assistance to students;
Refers students to other college staff when necessary;
Prepares, implements, and evaluates student learning outcomes based on program outcomes;
Keeps current on subject matter and teaching methodologies;
Maintains student records and monitors student progress;
Completes and submits institutional reports in a timely manner;
Participates/assists with coordination of specific program/course management;
Continuously analyzes and evaluates instructional results to improve instruction;
Evaluates student progress;
Ensures course syllabi are prepared and available to students on the first day of class;
Provides supervisor with a copy of all course SLOs and SLO assessments;
Assists with connecting program learning outcomes to institutional competencies;
Conducts on-going self-evaluations to improve instructional techniques and methodologies;
Promotes a positive image of college;
Acquires computer/technology competencies as appropriate to position;
Maintains security of personal computer access;
Performs other professional or job-related duties as assigned.

Communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Proficiently operate a computer and related software. Use active listening skills. EXPERIENCE

 Any combination of education and experience demonstrates possession of the requisite knowledge, skill, and abilities.

REQUIREMENTS
Education/Skills Required:

Master’s degree from a nationally accredited institution in Music or a master’s degree from a nationally accredited institution with at least 18 graduate semester hours in a qualifying field. Good communication skills.

Preferred:

Master’s degree in Music. Bilingual.

Experience Preferred:

Some directly related work experience. Some teaching experience. Some experience with instructional delivery via distance learning. Some community college experience.
