Provides an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social and emotional development of individuals to ensure success for every student. Supervises students in a variety of school related settings. Monitors and evaluates student outcomes. Communicates and interacts with students, parents, staff and community. Develops, selects and modifies instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students. Maintains appropriate records and follows required procedures and practices. Monitors appropriate use and care of equipment, materials and facilities.
The Music Teacher develops student understanding, appreciation of the art of music, including listening to a wide range of musical genres, periods and styles. To identify, promote and develop each student’s talents in vocal and instrumental musical expression.
KNOWLEDGE SKILS AND REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles.
Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans.
Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
Ability to play an instrument or instruments, conduct students in playing instruments as needed.
Ability to instruct students in singing, harmonization, and chorus as needed.
Ability to use computer network systems and software applications as needed.
Ability to organize and coordinate work.
Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor degree or its equivalent from an accredited institution.
