Teacher of Music/Director of Choirs
Paramus High School Paramus High School’s Music Teacher position includes directing three choirs, organizing and directing performances for various school concerts and community events throughout the year, participating in All-State, Region, County choral programs, and assisting with the school musical (musical is a stipend position).
Effective Date(s): 2025-2026 school year

Employment Terms:

Tenure Track Position
Full-time; eligible for health insurance benefits
Position is associated with the terms and conditions of the negotiated Agreement between the Educational Association of Paramus (EAP) and the Board of Education.

Reports To:

Principal, Vice Principals and Supervisor of Fine, Performing and Practical Arts
Job Goal(s): To provide small and large group instruction to students involved in the music classes and choral programs.
Builds a school and classroom culture in which students gain an interest in and appreciation for music and the arts
Guides the learning process toward the achievement of established NJSLS and district curriculum goals and implements a variety of teaching and assessment techniques (including formative and summative) to ensure student achievement and engagement
Collaborates regularly with the Pre-K-Grade 12 professional learning community to promote cohesiveness and unity within the program.

Qualifications:

New Jersey Teacher of Music, K-12 certification
Piano and vocal skills a must.

Salary:

Placement on the Education Association of Paramus (EAP) Salary Guide, considering experience and related qualifications.
