Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy (CGLA) is seeking a dynamic, creative, and passionate Music Teacher to join our team. This role will involve teaching music to middle and high school students, inspiring them to explore and develop their musical talents, and helping to nurture a love for music while aligning with our commitment to academic excellence and leadership development for young women. As a Music Teacher at CGLA, you will provide a well-rounded music education that includes music theory, performance, and history, while also contributing to the overall mission of the academy by supporting the leadership development of our students.
RESPONSIBILITIES
o Teach middle and high school music classes, including choir, general music, music theory, and vocal performance. o Design and implement engaging music curriculum that challenges students and helps them grow as musicians. o Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students. o Foster an inclusive classroom environment that celebrates diversity and encourages creativity. o Organize and direct music performances, including concerts, recitals, and school-wide events. o Develop and lead after-school music programs or clubs, such as choir or instrumental ensembles. o Facilitate individualized instruction leading to successful student auditions for regional and state honor clinic ensembles, college and university degree programs and scholarships, and other awards and recognitions. Ensembles should be prepared to perform at regional Concert Performance Assessment. As provided under the TN Academic Standards for Fine Arts “Perform” domain, curricular ensembles will perform at least 3 concerts each school year. o Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate music into interdisciplinary learning experiences.

o Serve as a positive role model and mentor to students, demonstrating leadership qualities both in and out of the classroom. o Encourage students to develop leadership skills through participation in music-related activities. o Committed to high academic achievement, independent musicianship, and high expectations for all students. o Assist with the planning and execution of school events, including but not limited to performances, assemblies, and graduation ceremonies. o Assess student progress and provide feedback to support their growth and development in music. o Maintain records of student attendance, grades, and other relevant data. o Prepare students for music-related competitions or performances.

QUALIFICATIONS
o Bachelor’s degree o Valid state of Tennessee teaching certification in Music Education (K-5) or be upcoming graduate in an accredited teacher preparation program. If you hold a teaching license in another state, you must apply for a Tennessee teaching license. o Prior experience teaching music in a middle and/or high school setting is preferred. o Experience directing musical performances, including choirs, bands, or ensembles. o Pass a criminal background check o CPR/First Aid Certification

o Strong classroom management and organizational skills. o Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of students and collaborate with other educators. o Proficiency in musical instruments, vocal techniques, and music theory. o Passion for teaching and inspiring young women to pursue their artistic and leadership potential.
