.05 FTE Music Teacher 3.3 3.3 out of 5 stars 345 Harbor Road, Shelburne, VT 05482 Champlain Valley School District District-Wide Posting 2025-2026 Licensed Position, Permanent Shelburne Community School 0.05 FTE – Music Teacher – Permanent Champlain Valley School District is seeking a dynamic and friendly music educator to join Shelburne Community School for the 2025-2026 school year. Preferred qualifications for this full-time position include either a Vermont Professional Educator’s License, or be eligible for licensure in Music from the VT Agency of Education. The following qualifications are also preferred: A strong understanding, experience, and passion for working with the developmental stages of children Demonstrated experience establishing a positive and inclusive learning community where all children feel a sense of belonging Experience with providing opportunities that are inclusive and equitable for diverse learners by using trauma informed practices, culturally responsive pedagogy, and an understanding of anti-bias/anti-racist practices. Bringing positive energy by participating in a collaborative team environment in a Professional Learning Community (PLC) setting and celebrating student and colleague successes Strong classroom management skills and knowledge of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and developmentally appropriate activities/strategies that promote social and emotional growth. Familiarity with some of the following resources would be helpful; Responsive Classroom Practices, Restorative Practices, Second Step Curriculum, Social Thinking Curriculum, Zones of Regulation, etc. An understanding of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) Framework, your role within the system of supports, and share the belief that we have a shared responsibility to ensure ALL children learn and grow. Training and experience with developing differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all learners – familiarity with Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Have an understanding of proficiency based learning, play-based learning, learning progressions, and data-responsive instruction based on National Core Arts Standards and music literacy. Have the ability to effectively integrate technology to enhance instruction and learning Ability to establish and maintain a positive professional relationship with students’ families and our community members Actively and clearly communicate with families and students on a regular basis Demonstrate the adaptability and flexibility of mind and practice necessary to thrive in a dynamic public school setting Experience in teaching or willingness to be trained in Orff and Feierabend methodologies preferred.
