Supervise and oversee junior and senior projects and coordinate senior internships. (This is a part of the 12-credit hour teaching load.) Serve as program coordinator for the B.S. in Worship Leadership (church ministry, music business, and education). Oversee and assess program learning outcomes, ensuring curricular relevance. Serve as an academic advisor for worship leadership students. Serve as program coordinator for the Master of Arts in Worship Leadership and Theology. Oversee and assess program learning outcomes, ensuring curricular relevance. Work with the dean to secure qualified adjunct faculty for all undergraduate and graduate worship leadership programs. Actively recruit students for ASOTA, with a primary focus on the worship leadership program. Build and maintain relationships with churches, worship pastors, senior pastors, and ministry leaders. Serve on University committees. Post and keep office hours each academic period. Attend all University faculty meetings and required workshops. Attend all department and college/school faculty meetings. Submit syllabi, credit hour forms, textbook orders, and grades according to scheduled due dates. Attend and support University activities when possible. Oversee the UM Worship Collective Organize and manage the chapel worship rotation, including scheduling teams and ensuring worship in UM’s weekly chapel is properly facilitated. Select and curate song repertoire for Worship Collective Secure and coordinate 2-3 worship leading opportunities per semester for Worship Collective. (D-Now’s, conferences, church partnerships) Lead Worship Collective students both spiritually and musically. Plan and facilitate student led worship events throughout the academic year. Ideally, one per semester. Attend mandated University activities, including but not limited to, commencement ceremonies. Accept additional responsibilities as assigned by the Dean of the Alabama School of the Arts and/or the Vice President for Academic Affairs. Position Qualifications (Educational credentials, skills, and abilities): Christian who is an active member of a local church. Supports Statement of Christian Affirmation (https://umobile.edu/about/mission/). Bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in music, worship, biblical studies, or theology required. Doctorate in worship, biblical studies, theology, or music preferred. Demonstrates experience in worship leadership (local church, academic, or professional settings). Ability to mentor and disciple students, preparing them for careers in worship ministry and related fields. Strong technological proficiency in worship production tools, including audio, lighting, video, DAWs (e.g., Ableton, Pro Tools), playback software, and service planning platforms like Planning Center. Demonstrates creativity and collaboration in developing innovative and authentic worship experiences, curriculum enhancements, and program initiatives that strengthen the student experience and advance the worship leadership program.
