OAKMAN MIDDLE – PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHER
(Anticipated Vacancy) Walker Co Board of Education Oakman, AL 9-month Teaching Position This posting will close on 4 PM of the last day of the posting. All applications must be entered prior to 4 PM on May 8, 2025, to be considered for this position. The duties include but are not limited to: Establishes objectives and plans learning experiences. Implements activities using a variety of techniques that utilize instructional time to meet objectives. Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to achieve a functional learning atmosphere. Exhibits positive human relations skills. Evaluates the educational program and/or student progress. Communicates with parents/guardians, colleagues, and community groups. Demonstrates proficiency in written and oral communication. Maintains and submits records and reports. Adheres to school system rules, administrative procedures, local board policies, and state and federal rules and regulations. Engages in personal professional growth and demonstrates professional ethics and leadership. Works well with young children. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have appropriate current valid Alabama Teaching Certificate in Physical Education P-12. Reports to Principal Duty Days – 187
SALARY :
As per State Matrix, depending on degree and experience. This position will be subject to the Students First Act of 2011. Walker County Schools reserves the right to fill this position by transfer of a qualified applicant who is already employed by Walker County Schools. Under the Students First Act of 2011, no credit toward tenure or non-probationary status is earned in the initial school year of employment if the date of hire occurs after September 30 th . •Applicants selected for certified positions must have undergone an ABI/FBI criminal history background check (fingerprinting administered through sites selected and approved by the WCBOE and State of Alabama Education Department) and been declared suitable and fit to teach under state law.
