Middle School (Grades 6-8) Physical Education Teacher AcadeMir Charter School East at Doral 11300 NW 41st Street, Doral, FL 33178 Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Physical Education Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to promoting physical fitness, healthy lifestyles, and the overall well-being of students. This role involves designing and implementing engaging physical education programs that encourage students to develop their physical abilities, teamwork skills, and a lifelong appreciation for health and fitness. Responsibilities Develop and implement lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and promote physical education. Teach various physical activities, including sports, fitness exercises, and health education. Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement. Utilize effective classroom management techniques to maintain discipline and ensure a safe learning atmosphere. Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback to support their growth. Collaborate with other educators to integrate literacy education into physical activities. Organize and supervise extracurricular sports programs and events. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and program updates. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and behavior management. Experience A degree in Physical Education or a related field is preferred. Proven experience in teaching physical education or coaching sports at the school level is highly desirable. Strong skills in lesson planning, public speaking, and classroom management are essential. Familiarity with literacy education strategies to enhance student learning in physical contexts is a plus. Creative writing skills may be beneficial for developing engaging educational materials. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of students and parents.
