COMPENSATION:
Per the Collective Bargaining Agreement located on the DY website . All internal applicants who are interested in this position should apply within ten days of this posting. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Design and deliver standards-based physical education lessons aligned with Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks. Promote motor skill development, physical fitness, coordination, teamwork, and self-confidence through active learning. Maintain a safe and engaging environment for all students. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners, including students with IEPs or 504 plans. Use various assessment tools to monitor student progress and inform instruction. Foster inclusive practices that promote respect, sportsmanship, and cooperation. Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to support holistic child development. Organize and participate in school-wide wellness events, including field days and fitness challenges. Maintain PE equipment and ensure proper care and usage by students. Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and district initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or related field Valid Massachusetts teaching license in Physical Education (PreK-8 or all levels) Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Citizenship, residency or work visa required
Preferred:
Experience teaching early childhood or primary grades Knowledge of trauma-informed teaching and social-emotional learning (SEL) Familiarity with inclusive and adaptive PE strategies Strong communication and classroom management skills
