Building Principal Job Summary:
The Elementary Physical Education (PE) Teacher is responsible for providing a comprehensive physical education program for students in grades K-6, aligned with state and national standards. The teacher promotes physical fitness, motor skill development, teamwork, and healthy lifestyles through engaging and developmentally appropriate activities.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education or related field Massachusetts DESE License in Physical Education (All Levels or PreK-8 preferred) SEI Endorsement (Sheltered English Immersion), as required by
DESE Current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification Preferred:
Experience teaching elementary-aged students Strong classroom management and student engagement skills
Knowledge of Massachusetts Comprehensive Health and Physical Education Curriculum Framework Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver physical education lessons that meet state standards and promote physical literacy Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment Assess and monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments Collaborate with classroom teachers, staff, and administration Maintain and inventory physical education equipment and supplies Participate in school-based meetings, parent conferences, and professional development Uphold and implement school and district policies and procedures Comply with the terms outlined in the Pentucket Association of Teachers (PAT) collective bargaining agreement

In accordance with the PAT negotiated agreement

Performance will be evaluated by the building principal in accordance with district policy and the Massachusetts Educator Evaluation System The Superintendent may waive or modify the qualification requirements.
