Physical Education (PE) Teacher – Clover Garden School (MS/HS)

Position Overview:
Clover Garden School is seeking a passionate and dynamic PE Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be committed to promoting lifelong health and wellness, fostering physical fitness, and helping students develop teamwork, sportsmanship, and self-discipline through structured physical activity.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement age-appropriate physical education curricula for students in grades [MS-HS].
Deliver engaging, safe, and inclusive PE lessons that promote physical literacy and a healthy lifestyle.
Teach a variety of sports, games, fitness activities, and wellness concepts.
Assess student progress and maintain accurate records aligned with school and state standards.
Create a positive and respectful classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth.
Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate physical education into the overall educational experience.
Organize and supervise school sports activities, intramural programs, and field days as applicable.
Maintain equipment and ensure the safety of the physical education facilities.
Attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school events as required.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field (required).
Valid state teaching certification/license in Physical Education (or ability to obtain).
CPR/First Aid certification (preferred or willingness to obtain).
Prior experience teaching PE at the 6th-12th level (preferred).
Strong classroom management and communication skills.
Ability to motivate and inspire students of all ability levels.
Preferred Attributes:
Knowledge of adaptive physical education and inclusive practices.
Experience with coaching school sports teams or organizing extracurricular physical activities.
Familiarity with North Carolina Physical Education Standards (if applicable).
Work Environment:
This position involves both indoor and outdoor instruction. Must be able to stand for long periods, demonstrate physical activity, and occasionally lift gym equipment.
