Hixson Middle School is a 6-8 school located in Hixson, TN, just north of Chattanooga. At Hixson Middle, we implement STEM practices aligned with the Tennessee STEM School Designation process, which includes project and problem-based learning and community partnerships. Our campus includes an eLab and an outdoor classroom. If you enjoy progressive education, innovation, and collaboration, then this is the school for you. Hixson Middle is a Community School with ROAR, an afterschool program that supports students in academic and social-emotional development. We focus on the whole student: socially, emotionally, and academically. Our teachers enjoy a supportive climate, including our New Teacher Academy and mentor program. Our teachers plan with their content partner at least twice a week and each grade level has two teams. Qualifications Knowledge/Education/Experience:

Teaching candidates must hold a valid state of Tennessee teaching certification in Physical Educaiton K-12 or be upcoming graduates in an accredited teacher preparation program. If you hold a teaching license in another state, you must for a Tennessee teaching license. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree
