Email resume to Rebekah Loffi at rebekah.loffi@wcs.edu Job Overview The job of the General Education Interventionist was established for the purpose of assisting classroom teachers and coaches in providing focused interventions to small groups of students in accordance with our district RTI2 plan. This job reports to the Principal. Essential Functions Provides exemplary classroom instruction and utilizes effective best practices to improve student achievement results and close achievement gaps. Regularly analyzes data and monitors student progress aligned to students’ focused interventions. Actively participates in data team meetings by providing student data (progressing monitoring; attendance logs, intervention strategies, student work samples, etc.). Monitors individual students for the purpose of helping as needed and ensuring a quiet, safe, and positive learning environment. Participates in on-going and job-embedded professional development (e.g. staff meetings; study groups, demonstration lessons with pre- and post-discussion analysis; workshops; trainings; seminars) for the purpose of gathering information related to academic interventions. Prepares for daily classroom lectures and activities (e.g. set up for speakers, review materials ahead of lectures, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring a clear understanding and interpretation. Prepares intervention lesson plans, in collaboration with teachers and coaches, related to differentiating instruction and providing interventions while adhering to district interventions’ protocols and processes. Working Environment This job is performed in a standard office environment and in a generally clean and healthy environment. Generally, the job requires 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing.
Physical Requirements:
occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Up to 25% travel may be required to support recruiting activities.
Qualifications Minimum experience:
None Specified Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree in job related field. The ideal candidate will have the following education, experience, skills, knowledge, abilities and/or competencies: Relevant work experience is preferred. Ability to apply assessment instruments; plan and manage projects; set priorities; adapt to changing work priorities; maintain confidentiality; and promote services within the community. Knowledge of and ability to effectively use lesson plans, instructional materials, and community resources. Ability to schedule a significant number of activities, meetings, and/or events; independently work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; work and communicate with diverse individuals and/or groups. Ability to solve problems and create action plans using data or independent interpretation of guidelines.
