Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
In addition to the following,other duties may be assigned.•Responsible to ensure teachers provide planning and implementation oflearning experiences that advance the intellectual and physicaldevelopment of children, including improving the readiness of childrenfor school by developing their literacy, phonemic, and print awareness,their understanding and use of language, their understanding and use ofincreasingly complex and varied vocabulary, their appreciation of books,their understanding of early math and early science, theirproblem-solving abilities, and their approaches to learning.
Responsible for ensuring teachers establish and maintain a safe andhealthy learning environment.
Responsible for ensuring teachers support the social and emotionaldevelopment of children.
Responsible for ensuring teachers encourage the involvement of thefamilies of the children in a Head Start program and support thedevelopment of relationships between children and their families.
Monitors, reviews, and evaluates facility activities to ensureconformance to state and local regulations.
Responsible for ensuring preparation of referral packet and submissionof complete packet to Child Development Manager within five working daysfrom date of screening.
Oversees the election of parent committee officers.
Works with the parent committee president to schedule parent meetings totake place monthly.
Works with a parent committee representative to develop a monthlynewsletter for parents.
Approves and initial all in-kind and submits to central office by the5thof each month.
Enters absentees into the agencys child and family database system bythe timelines that are set by the data systems administrator.
Approves Request for College Course forms for subordinates beforesending them to the central office for final approval.
Attends Management Team Meetings and provides input into programimprovement and planning.
Works with all center staff to ensure the environment is safe andhealthy for children and staff.
Monitors the classrooms regularly, but not less than weekly to ensurethat schedules are followed and activities are being carried out asplanned, and that all staff are performing to their greatest potentialfollowing rules and regulations of the BRAD Child Development Programs.
Monitor transition rosters and email to Health and Safety Manager eachFriday.
Monitors all health services to ensure compliance with all Head StartProgram Performance Regulations and BRAD Head Start ProgramImplementation Plan with consultation from Health and Safety Manager asneeded.
Monitors the documentation of fire safety inspections, and State HealthDept. to ensure that they are current.
Keeps current First Aid/CPR cards for all staff and sends copies to thecentral office.
Apply for grants when funds are made available with the assistance ofthe appropriate office staff.
Conducts staff meetings in the center to keep all staff informed and upto date on current events in the program. Documentation of meetings issubmitted to the supervisor with signatures of all attendees. Have allmemos/relevant emails signed by the center staff and attach to staffmeeting minutes.
Conducts 45 & 90 day evaluations on all new employees as assigned.
Conducts annual performance evaluations on all assigned employees aftertheir first year of employment.
Submits inventory report to central office each year by April 15thComplete Health and Safety Checklist monthly. Submit Maintenance Request Form to Child Development Manager as repairsare needed in center and on playgrounds. Emergency repairs should besubmitted immediately.
Name a person to be in charge of the center when the Center Director isnot present.
Answers all incoming phone calls into the center taking messages forclassroom staff so not to interrupt the classrooms.
Work with a staff to ensure that all suspicions of child abuse andneglect are reported to the appropriate authorities.
Schedules substitutes to perform duties during the absence of regularemployees.
Approves and signs all timesheets and travel logs and submits to thecentral office.
Responsible for orientation of all volunteers.
Maintains knowledge base in ABC regulations, CCDF regulations, HeadStart performance standards, Environment Rating Scales, Child Car
