The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of education administration, and a commitment to fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for young learners. This role requires effective management of staff, curriculum development, and strategic planning to ensure the highest quality of education is delivered. Manages the overall operations of the school including programming, licensing, marketing, community outreach, public relations, administration, financial, customer service and staffing. Duties Supervises and mentors teaching staff

  • Provides one-on-one supervision to teaching staff to ensure that they have the support and guidance needed to provide quality services to the children and families served.
  • With participation from staff, develop curricula for all groups.
  • Support teachers by observing in the classroom and providing feedback to teachers; meeting regularly with teachers and helping them problem solve classroom situations’ being knowledgeable of current ECE resources and sharing those resources with teachers.
  • Conduct teaching staff interviews, selection assignment of all staff.
  • Lead staff meetings, supervision and on-going training. Curriculum and Program Quality Guide teachers to plan, prepare, implement and manage a developmentally appropriate curriculum for children.
  • Review the weekly class schedules of activities for consistency with the school curricula
  • Ensures children’s physical, emotion, social and intellectual needs are met.
  • Evaluate program and activities
  • Assign and schedules staff and arrange substitute staff as needed.
  • Hire staff Establishes and maintains good communication and relationships with the board of directors, staff, families, and community partners.
  • Ensures that the mission and vision are reflected and implemented by the staff.
  • Participate in community organizations related to education. Carry out the mission, vision and values established by the director and Board of Directors.
  • Provide a social and emotional climate that supports and builds group pride.
  • Establish and implement an ongoing staff development program.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all personal information about children, families and staff.
  • Supervise and directly interact with children in a warm and positive manner. Communicate positively and actively to develop reciprocal relationships with parents
  • Identify children who may have developmental delays or special needs and communicate the child’s assessments needs to the specialist. Oversee the day-to-day operations, ensuring all staff and program comply with State Regulations.
  • Interact with State agencies
  • Provide information about health, safety and emergency procedures to parents and staff and ensure that all fire and other emergency drills occur on a regular basis.
  • Complete performance evaluations; maintain confidential records of teaching staff’s employment, evaluation and staff development activities. Monitor the program budget to assure financial accountability. Assists the Board of Directors with budget preparation.
  • Collects tuition and other funds, documents all transactions for the financial secretary and makes deposits.
  • Prepare payroll for Data Pay
  • Have excellent computer skills and knowledge of relevant software
  • Be flexible and adaptable and able to assess and solve issues that arise
  • Interact with the Here Wee Grow! Board of Directors providing information as needed Experience A Bachelor’s degree in early childhood development or a related field is required: an advanced degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of leadership experience in a high-quality early childhood education setting.
  • Possess knowledge of State regulations pertaining to licensing.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and effectively manage programs, services, and staff.
  • Possess First Aid/CPR certification
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with the operation of a non-profit organization beneficial. Work Environment/Work Schedule The work environment is a typical office environment with varying noise levels.
  • Usual work schedule is 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday
  • Some evenings and weekends will be required. Physical Requirements Be able to lift 30 lbs.
  • Be able to walk, squat/kneel, push/pull, turn, bend, stoop and sit on the floor
