Position Summary The Preschool Director at TSCA is a dynamic spiritual and educational leader who oversees day-to-day operations, staff, curriculum, and culture of the preschool. This role is responsible for creating a thriving environment where children are discipled, families are engaged, and learning is rooted in both academic excellence and biblical truth. The Director integrates a classical model of learning, utilizes the Abeka curriculum, and partners with families and church leadership to develop faithful followers of Jesus. Key ResponsibilitiesDaily Leadership & Facility Readiness Ensure the facility and classrooms are prepared, clean, and fully supplied for each day’s learning activities. Review daily agendas, check emails, and address any immediate needs or concerns. Team Communication & Staff Development Lead regular staff meetings to align the team spiritually and logistically, sharing updates, schedules, and classroom plans. Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and professional development opportunities for teachers and staff. Equip and lead teachers, assistants, and volunteers who are passionate about Christian education and discipleship. Conduct performance evaluations, promote unity, and encourage growth in both faith and teaching practices. Ensure all staff meet required training, background check, and licensing guidelines from local and state agencies. Classroom Engagement & Instructional Support Visit classrooms to observe learning activities, student engagement, and curriculum implementation. Offer support, guidance, and feedback on classroom management and spiritual integration. Participate in classroom activities to encourage student learning and relationship-building. Monitor student development and assess progress regularly. Curriculum Planning & Implementation Lead the implementation of the classroom curriculum that nurtures critical thinking and biblical understanding. Evaluate lesson plans to ensure faith-based instruction is integrated across all learning areas. Develop themes, activities, and experiences that help children think through a biblical lens while supporting cognitive, emotional, and spiritual growth. Plan and oversee after-school programs and summer camp experiences. Family Engagement & Communication Build strong relationships with families—know their name, know their story, and help them find their next step. Maintain consistent communication with parents through newsletters, conferences, and approved digital platforms. Address parent questions, concerns, and share updates regarding their child’s progress. Lead regularly scheduled parent conferences to discuss student development. Promote parent involvement through classroom participation, family events, and volunteer opportunities. Support school community events. Administrative & Operational Oversight Oversee enrollment, onboarding processes, and tuition management systems to ensure accurate billing and reporting. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding licensing, safety, and health standards (including VPK requirements). Maintain organized records (enrollment forms, attendance, incident reports, etc.). Apply for county and external grants to support school operations, student services, and staff development initiatives. Coordinate with the TSCA Board and The Source Church Executive Team for planning, reporting, and alignment with church mission. Maintain a clean, safe, and secure environment for students and staff. Conduct facility walkthroughs to ensure classrooms and shared spaces are properly maintained at the end of each day. Community & Ministry Partnerships Collaborate with the Outreach Director to explore outreach opportunities that benefit children, families, and the school community. Actively participate in church-sponsored activities and ministry-wide meetings as needed. Develop and lead Christ-centered summer camps and after-school programs that engage students and promote discipleship. Continuous Improvement & Planning Reflect on daily activities with staff to identify areas of success and opportunities for improvement. Plan future events, curriculum themes, and staff schedules to ensure smooth operations and spiritual growth. Research new educational resources and tools to enhance classroom learning and discipleship opportunities. Qualifications A strong and growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a heart for discipling children and families. Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (Bachelor’s preferred). Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in early education with at least 2 years in a leadership role. Holds a current Florida Director Credential. CPR and First Aid certification. Skilled in communication, leadership, and financial administration. Familiarity with classical Christian education and the Abeka curriculum is a plus.
