JOB SUMMARY
The Preschool Director provides spiritual, educational, and operational leadership for the preschool program, ensuring that it aligns with the mission and values of Preschool at the Cross, a Christ-centered educational organization. This individual will oversee curriculum implementation, teacher development, family engagement, and compliance with all applicable licensing and accreditation standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
Spiritual Qualifications A committed Christian with a clear testimony of personal faith in Jesus Christ. Agreement with and active support of the school’s statement of faith and mission. Active member of a local Bible-believing church. Professional Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (Master’s preferred). Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in early childhood education; leadership experience required. Knowledge of child development, curriculum design, and licensing regulations. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Spiritual Leadership Model a vibrant and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Integrate biblical principles into all aspects of preschool operations and curriculum. Cultivate a spiritually nurturing environment for students, staff, and families. Provide spiritual support and encouragement to teachers and parents. Administrative Leadership Oversee day-to-day operations of the preschool including scheduling, staffing, budgeting, and enrollment. Maintain compliance with state licensing requirements and health and safety regulations. Develop and implement policies and procedures that reflect the mission and values of the school. Collaborate with the Head of School on strategic planning and school-wide initiatives. Curriculum & Instruction Select and implement a Christ-centered early childhood curriculum aligned with developmental standards. Monitor and support teaching practices that foster academic, spiritual, and social-emotional growth. Assess program effectiveness and make data-informed decisions to improve outcomes. Staff Development & Supervision Recruit, train, and supervise preschool teachers and support staff. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching and professional development opportunities. Foster a collaborative and positive staff culture rooted in Christian values. Family & Community Engagement Maintain open and effective communication with families. Organize family events, parent-teacher conferences, and opportunities for spiritual growth.
