Purpose Statement :

The Assistant Coordinator’s role is to assist in the development of the Early Childhood program, including but not limited to: actively participating in the planning and implementation of the early childhood goals, policies, procedures, curriculum decisions, communications with parents, and the assessment of the needs of individual children, under the guidance of the Early Childhood Director. The Early Childhood Assistant Coordinator will also assist the Early Childhood Director to promote CCABB to the community.

Scope :

This position interacts with students, staff members, and parents to assess, develop, and accomplish an academically challenging, developmentally appropriate, nurturing environment that best meets the individual needs of each child enrolled in CCABB’s Early Childhood program.

Specific Responsibilities:

Provide support and contribute to the responsibilities of the Early Childhood Director Develops policies, plans, and procedures to effect the smooth, safe, efficient, and effective operation of Preschool and the Pre-K aftercare program (ACE), consistent with God’s Word toward mission accomplishment Assist the director to plans and organizing school-wide initiatives for the development of the Early Childhood Program and aftercare (ACE). Oversees ACE staff, rosters, schedules, ordering & storage of snacks, equipment, & classroom supply needs, sign-in/sign-out sheets, etc. Utilizes information systems tools – BrightWheel, Creative Curriculum, Abeka Curriculum, and VPK Portal Assists in planning and facilitating all Early Childhood events throughout the year and during summer months. Serve in various roles throughout the center as needed, including teaching. Plans for adequate and efficient staffing for Pre-K, Preschool, and PreK ACE. Ensures efficient and effective arrival and dismissal of students Ensures necessary and advisable supervision of students Ensures safe and efficient use of volunteers and substitutes Facilitates all EC emergency drills with Director and Admin Assistant Ensures orientation of new staff; equips them with Handbooks, etc. Ensures review of lesson plans, and weekly team meetings provides support and accountability as necessary and advisable Monitors staff dress code and implement accountability procedure Ensures accurate student tardy reporting and attendance designation Words with Director to ensure necessary and advisable staff communication through weekly (PreK) and monthly (Preschool) staff meetings Ensures staff attendance at devotions and CCABB staff meetings. Maximizes resources available to meet exceptional, remedial, and enrichment needs of students Plans and facilitates in-house field trips and ensures their safety and appropriate administration Works with the Early Childhood Director to develop and maintain staffing patterns for Preschool, ACE, and Substitutes Works with the Early Childhood Director to develop and maintain job descriptions and work calendars for all staff Accomplishes effective collaboration with all Calvary Chapel ministries Oversees faculty development goals: classroom management and instructional methods/best practices Oversees annual academic and spiritual goals of assigned faculty Assures teachers are using Florida Early Learning and Developmental Standards as it pertains to lesson planning and implementation Assigns preschool staff to specific areas when Sub Coordinator is not available Inspects Early Childhood classrooms as needed for Palm Beach Health Department and standards for Early Childhood programs Fulfills any related duties as requested by

Education Requirements:

Degree in Elementary Education or Early Childhood (Preferred) National CDA or equivalency Completion of all DCF and BCCLE Training requirements for childcare Director Credential (Preferred)

Completion of Drug Screen Work Schedule:

Part-Time; however, an incumbent may be required to work an evening or weekend day to attend a CCA event, or assist with an emergency situation affecting the church facilities (i.e., hurricane prep or clean up, etc.).
