Minimum Qualifications:
Education:

Graduation from an accredited graduate school with a Master’s degree in clinical social work, clinical psychology or in related human service field.

Licensure:

Must be licensed pursuant the provisions of Chapter 491, Florida Statutes as a Clinical Social Worker, Mental Health Counselor, or Marriage and Family Therapist.

Experience:

3-5 years provision of clinical experience required. Minimum of 2 years of prior Supervisor experience in the field required. Experience with home visiting programs, early childhood intervention, and/or school-based services

Additional Requirements:

Must be 21 years of age. Negative Drug Screening prior to hire and throughout employment. Clear Criminal Background Check throughout employment with Suncoast Center and local checks prior to hire and annually along with DCF Level II prior to hire and as required by DCF, and Must have valid Florida Driver’s License Motor Vehicle checks prior to hire and annually with acceptable driving record maintained throughout employment along with reliable vehicle, valid registration, and valid vehicle insurance. (must be in compliance with Florida Laws and Administrative Codes with fingerprinting and determined to be of good moral character).

Working Conditions:

Requires both indoor and outdoor work with outreach to off-site locations. Exposure to extreme heat and humidity during the summer months. Schedule may be irregular.

Job Duties:

Oversees and directs the development of policies and procedures for assigned programs to ensure quality care and compliance with funder/payer and accreditation body. Supervises, is accessible to, and provides direction to staff. Provides leadership and guidance to staff through appropriate utilization and implementation of the policies and procedures. Ensures the programs are operating according to funding, licensing and accreditation guidelines. Monitors documentation compliance with internal procedures, contract requirements, payer requirements, accrediting standards, and Florida Statutes and Administrative Rules. Supports and promotes resiliency and strengths-based services. Strives to create an environment that is safe and supportive. Encourages employees’ competency in providing person-centered services, co-occurring mental health and substance abuse services, and in providing culturally competent services. Ensures that the services provided are either evidenced-based or best practice models. Develops, constantly improves, implements, and monitors systems to ensure the smooth operation of the program, ultimately resulting in excellent customer service, the timely and accurate completion of clinical documentation, outcome data, and service event entry. Formulates meaningful objectives for assigned programs and establishes adequate systems for tracking and reporting outcomes to funding sources and to the Quality Improvement Committee. Reads and remains current with funding contracts, CARF requirements, Medicaid guidelines, and applicable Florida Statues and Administrative Rules. Ensures timely access to services. Makes recommendations to improve access to services as needed. Monitors revenue and expense reports of programs, and institutes corrective action to ensure compliance with budgetary goals. Monitors the productivity of the programs and individual staff on an ongoing basis. Makes recommendations and implements processes to improve productivity as needed. Ensures staff completes all documentation (CFARS, outcomes, assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, closings, service worksheets, time sheets) in required time frames. Ensures the flow of information both horizontally and vertically to better utilize resources and to ensure quality and productivity of program. Responsible for staff recruitment, interviewing, hiring, work assignments, orientation and performance supervision according to work rules, regulations, and policies; develops and implements staff orientation and training to program. Provides clinical supervision and assures training to enhance growth in clinical skills to ensure good risk management and documentation skills and adherence to confidentiality standards. Uses supervision techniques that are easily understood by staff and that are appropriate and readily usable and effective in establishing desired organizational climate of trust, creativity and autonomy using sound methods of independent and cooperative decision making. Offers staff encouragement and praise when appropriate. Individual supervision sessions are scheduled on a regular basis and the session is documented. Recognizes and makes accommodations for staff when they have added work duties and extra staff assignments. Is aware of employee’s individual needs and desires, and attempts to meet those needs as appropriate. May offer staff flex time to meet individual needs as program permits. Completes meaningful performance evaluations with staff in a timely manner, relating to core competencies, specific job assignments and areas for growth. Establishes individualized staff development goals with each employee. Accurately assesses staff training and supervision needs.
