GENERAL SUMMARY
The Child Care Center Director will oversee all aspects of program development and implementation, staff supervision and collection of program participant fees for the Childcare Learning Center, including the Pre-School program and Child Watch (depending on branch). In addition, every position in the YMCA of Coastal Georgia, Inc is responsible for upholding the Judeo-Christian principles that are central to our mission by modeling behaviors that exemplify the four pillars of character – caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
Develops a curriculum, markets, schedules, implements and oversees daily program activities of staff and participants ensuring safety and quality programming. Reviews payments, receipts, late fees, immunization forms and registrations for all participants. Maintains appropriate documentation for Bright From the Start, the State of Georgia’s licensing division (i.e. CACFP Food Program, Licensing, CAPs, daily attendance records, transportation and medication logs, etc.). Responsible for continued program licensure, both regarding the physical environment and programming aspects according to Bright From the Start’s “Rules For Child Care Learning Centers”. Orders and maintains instructional materials and supplies. Responsible for fiscal management and budget of child care programming. Oversee scholarship approval, check requests, invoices payment collections and payroll for the department. Relates and communicates regularly and effectively with parents, participants and fellow staff members. Organizes and coordinates special events and activities in the child care setting. Participates in the hiring process, staff development, performance evaluations and training activities. Maintains adequate staffing to maintain state regulated staff to participant ratios. Oversee center set up and cleanup daily. Preventing incidents of child abuse, identifying incidents of child abuse, and reacting properly when they occur. Assist in the overall retention and satisfaction of YMCA members through appropriate customer service. Assist in the annual fundraising program for the YMCA. EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Child Development or Recreation required and or/one year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
QUALIFICATIONS

Professional training in working with preschool aged children. Ability to develop and implement daily / weekly lesson and activity plans. Ability to foster positive staff, parent and child relations. Proven experience managing multiple full and part-time staff. Sound working knowledge of child development principles. Must be able to pass a criminal background check and obtain authorization to work with children under the Georgia Department of Labor and YMCA guidelines.
