Assistant Director 3.1 3.1 out of 5 stars Buford, GA 30518 Job Overview The Assistant Director supports the Center or Academy Director in overseeing the day-to-day operations of a childcare or early learning center. This role is essential for maintaining high standards in curriculum, staff performance, and overall child welfare. Key Responsibilities 1. Administrative Duties Assist with scheduling staff and managing ratios. Support enrollment processes, tours, and family communications. Maintain licensing and compliance documentation. Help prepare for inspections or audits. 2. Curriculum and Program Support Work with lead teachers to implement and enhance curriculum. Monitor lesson plans and classroom environments. Ensure developmentally appropriate practices (DAP) are followed. 3. Staff Supervision and Development Mentor and coach teachers and support staff. Assist in performance evaluations. Help plan and lead professional development or staff meetings. 4. Health, Safety, and Licensing Ensure all health and safety protocols are consistently followed. Keep accurate records for children’s attendance, incidents, and health updates. Remain up to date on state licensing and accreditation standards. 5. Family and Community Engagement Communicate regularly with families regarding child development and center updates. Help organize family events, open houses, and community outreach. Skills and Qualifications Degree in Early Childhood Education (Associate’s or Bachelor’s). Experience as a lead teacher or in a similar administrative role. Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Knowledge of state regulations and early childhood accreditation standards. Familiar with Gansi (food program)
