Essential Functions:
- Acts as Director Designee in the absence of the Center Director
- Performs opening/closing duties as outlined in the ELC Manual
- Oversees staffing patterns ensuring classroom ratios are met according to LDOE regulations.
- Assures all new employees are oriented to the center, job descriptions, and personnel policies and procedures.
- Oversees the assigned hours, schedules, leave requests, and attendance records of ELC staff.
- Approves/declines staff requests for leave.
- Submits payroll information to the Business Office according to FUMC procedures.
- Assists with conducting ELC tours for prospective parents.
- Assists in the maintenance of the waiting list for ELC.
- Responsible for child enrollment procedures, including Summer Camp.
- Assists with implementing and updating the ELC Emergency Plan
- Assists in public relations events.
- Attending all staff meetings and appropriate professional development activities.
- Performs any other tasks deemed necessary by the Center Director Core Competencies

- Performs any other tasks deemed necessary by the Center Director.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree, or Associate’s Degree, in Early Childhood or related field, and some experience in childcare centers. Advanced level computer skills, internet, and e-mail. Ability to plan, implement, and coordinate mentoring activities and procedures to ensure compliance with established standards. Ability to prioritize and manage workloads and deadlines. Significant problem-solving and diagnostic skills with the ability to quickly analyze situations and adopt a practical course of action. Ability to handle stressful and sensitive situations professionally. Make independent decisions on matters involving established policies and procedures. Ability to meet the needs of all children, specifically those with special needs, challenging behaviors, and gifted and culturally diverse populations. Special Considerations Pass a criminal background check Maintain a current First Aid and CPR certification Lift to 50 lbs. Daily kneeling, stooping, bending, and sitting on the floor to attend to children’s needs
