Job Description

St. Patrick’s Episcopal Day School Director St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church and Day School 1322 Church Street, Zachary, LA 70791 Job Description The Day School Director should be familiar with and implement the Louisiana Early Child Care Regulations, ensuring compliance.

The director is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and comfort for all children. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing program policies and assuring each child is protected from abuse and neglect.

Objective:

To fulfill the mission of St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church and pursue the vision of the Day School through effective administration, personnel administration and development, program oversight, and facility enhancement. Other Job Responsibilities Maintain staff-to-child ratios in all classrooms. Interview/hire staff and manage staff according to each individual job description. Maintain program budget including collecting payments/fees, approving expenses, distributing funds, facilitating payroll, tracking expenses and planning fundraising events. Maintain all records for five years. Manage, conduct, and document staff meetings. Meeting agendas must be printed and bound. Perform general office duties daily including reading mail and email, making and receiving phone calls, filing documents, managing database systems, and overseeing all office activities. Supervise all daily and weekly tasks including reviewing staff and children’s schedules, observing classroom management, and overseeing curriculum implementation. Provide support for daily and weekly activities including approving time off requests, leading recruitment efforts and managing program calendars. Greet parents and visitors, answer questions, arrange meetings, lead tours, and perform other daily customer service tasks. Plan and implement family engagement activities. Oversee supply and food ordering to ensure compliance with state licensing regulations. Ensure all required paperwork for children, staff, and licensing are obtained and organized in a timely manner in accordance with the State of Louisiana Licensing regulations (including required emergency plans and drills.) Knowledge of Christian education, curriculum planning and programming, and compliance with all local and state licensing requirements and regulations. Provide written Monthly Report of Day School Activities and Progress Meet, at minimum, once a week with the Church Rector A high regard for integrity and confidentiality.

Early Childhood Learning Center Licensing Regulations Director Qualifications:

A. The director/director designee shall be at least 21 years of age. B. The director/director designee shall have documentation of at least one of the following upon the date of hire as director or director designee: 1. an early childhood ancillary certificate and one year of experience in teaching or care in a licensed early learning center or comparable setting, subject to approval by the department; 2. a national administrator credential and one year experience in teaching or care in a licensed early learning center, or comparable setting, plus 6 credit hours or 90 clock hours of training in child care, child development, early childhood, or management/administration, subject to approval by the department; or 3. Three years of experience as a director or staff in a licensed early learning center, or comparable setting, subject to approval by the department plus 6 credit hours or 90 clock hours of training in child care, child development, early childhood, or management/administration approved by the department. A director who was qualified on the director’s date of hire remains qualified as long as the director remains continuously employed at the licensed center or at another licensed center without a break in service of more than 90 days.
