Education Teaching Full Job Description Position Description:

The Early Childhood CLASS Coach ensures young children receive high-quality instruction. The Early Childhood CLASS Coach leads the development and improvement for teachers through planning,modeling, observing, and providing feedback. The Early Childhood CLASS Coach provides training and support to schools and early childhood sites. The Coach serves as the instructional expert and provides support on assessment, curriculum, high-quality interactions, and the science of teaching in early childhood education.

Director of Network Services Scope of Responsibility:

Provide high-quality professional development around effective early education practices and the foundations of effective interactions in early education. Provide feedback, engage in one-on-one coaching, and model best practices. Coordinate and support instructional leaders and teachers to fully implement high quality interactions. Identify where high-quality interactions and built-in supports are not being maximized Model and teach new effective interactions with embedded instructional support strategies. Coach teachers on using high-quality, evidence-based assessments to determine the most effective interventions, including full implementation of Teaching Strategies GOLD. Facilitate professional development for teachers. Observe teachers, provide feedback, and identify next steps to improve instructional support strategies for the purpose of support and not evaluation. Monitor and coordinate interventions conducted by the classroom teacher. Model and teach exemplar interactions when appropriate. Support lesson preparation using high-quality curriculum. Model and support high-quality interactions with students Analyze data, identify trends, and support teachers to adjust instruction based on data. Communicate a belief in all students’ abilities to become successful learners. Attend all required meetings and trainings. Communicate with leadership team on school-wide curriculum progress.

Physical Involvement:

Movement throughout early childhood and preschool classrooms is required most of each workday. Must be able to operate office equipment. Standing, walking, reaching, bending, and lifting up to 10 pounds is sometimes required. Ability to provide own transportation to schools, work locations, and meeting sites. Mobility skills necessary to access a variety of work locations, including locations not on the ground floor.

Skills and Qualifications:

Successful candidates will be detail-oriented, independent self-starters who demonstrate an unwavering commitment to raising student achievement and who have a record of high performance in challenging situations and will also demonstrate: Minimum of three (3) years teaching experience as a certified Early Childhood teacher Knowledge and experience with Frog Street’s approach to instruction for young children Knowledge and experience with a CLASS approach to effective instructional support interactions Successful and documentable experience that impacted student achievement Strong knowledge of how young children develop and learn High degree of professionalism with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities while consistently demonstrating sound judgment and disciplined thinking Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to organize and motivate people and to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others Possess integrity, initiative, and good moral character Demonstrate ability to relate to students, staff, administration, parents, and community Possess desirable attributes of personality, enthusiasm, and interpersonal skills Proven track record of working with diverse individuals at all levels to drive decision-making and results Ability to be visionary and strategic is essential. Understanding of regulations regarding the operation of Louisiana schools including but not limited to Bulletins 741,1530,1706,130, 140, and 1508

Desirable Qualifications:

Master’s or advanced degree in Education preferred
