Sits on all center related hiring committees, interviews, and onboarding of new staff (advertising of positions, interviews, onboarding procedures, training, etc). Coordinates and maintains effective and continuous communication with families. Prepares routine memorandum informing staff of administrative decisions and matters of policy Coordinates and manages professional development workshops/trainings for staff Actively promotes and engages in research of programs and/or funding opportunities (seeking of donations, endowments, and fundraising) related to EC programs and/or certification programs that would enhance and/or contribute to the West Ascension Early Learning Center. Maintains relationships/liaisons with community agencies and child care organizations. Maintains a congenial and collaborative relationship with schools and administrative support units. Percentage Of Time 25 Responsibility / Duty Assists the Director in: long-range planning, goal setting, and assessment of all operational EC related programs (early learning centers and/or certification programs). supervision of all center staff with regard to corresponding position responsibilities implementation and evaluation of center programs and assessment of children based on local community needs. conducting comprehensive and reliable staff evaluations managing budgetary/accounting processes to/from external entities as necessary maintaining, evaluating, modifying, and executing all center policies and procedures – including enrollment developing, coordinating, and maintaining high-quality educational center(s) producing, maintaining, and modifying strategic plan reports collecting impact data to be used to promote the accomplishments of the center and/or modify operational practices. developing and implementing parent programs and events based on local community needs. coordinating and managing professional development workshops/training for staff. designing and producing center-level communications and marketing (e.g., website, newsletters, promotional materials) to ensure compliance with Ascension Parish Government and Nicholls State University communications and branding standards. Percentage Of Time 25 Responsibility / Duty Has extensive knowledge of and maintains continued development in understanding Louisiana State Licensing requirements, Health Department requirements, and Fire Marshal requirements Serve as Director Designee in the event that the director is absent Relieves director of all minor administrative matters and serves as a professional representative of the center Supervises the physical facility, construction, and maintenance of the center, following through with facility changes/advancements/issues as determined by the center director Appropriately responds to emergencies, inspections, parental concerns Planning and managing the center’s daily activities Ensuring that minimum licensing requirements are met at all times Coordinate staffing including but not limited to fulfilling Teacher-Child Ratio requirements in each classroom (and within center) at all times. Contacting and managing substitute teachers to replace absent teachers Examines and prepares detailed reports on any phase of organizational activity, including but not limited to recommendations for revising procedures to improve center operations Assesses the importance of issues/conflicts between staff, children, and/or families and briefs the director as necessary. Conducts Child Care Criminal Background Checks (CCCBC) as necessary Implements and maintains accurate Child and Adult Care Food Program implementation and documentation Percentage Of Time 25 Responsibility /

Duty Maintains:

Knowledge and compliance with the policies and procedures set forth in the staff handbook and any additional verbal directives Physical demands requiring frequent lifting, carrying, transferring, of objects of a considerable weight Duties related to and in support of the educational process and care and safety of all children Participation in staff planning and evaluation meetings as well as professional meetings Sharing of appropriate information with other staff members Confidentiality of children, parents, and all staff members. Compliance with all university, LDOE licensing, Health Department, and Fire Marshal policies and procedures . All necessary employment requirements by established due dates. Percentage Of Time 10 Posting Detail Information Minimum Experience Required A minimum of three (3) years experience in full-time employment within an Early Childhood setting Minimum Education Required Associate Degree within Early Childhood Education or related field OR CDA (Child Development Associates Certification) obtained through a Louisiana approved CDA pathway program OR National Administrator Credential (NAC) Minimum Licenses Required Qualify for the Louisiana Department of Education Early Childhood Ancillary Certification Other Minimum Requirements 21 years of age or older Adult/Child/Infant CPR and First Aid Certified Able to pass the Child Care Criminal Background Check (CCCBC) Test(s) Required Preferred Education Bachelors or higher degree in Early Childhood Education or related field Preferred Experience A minimum of five (5) years experience in full-time employment within an Early Childhood Lead Teacher or administrative position. Preferred Licenses Other Preferred Requirements Familiar with Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) processes Physical Demands Be able to frequently stand, walk, speak, hear, and lift up children/weighted objects.
