Child Care Center Director A Joyful Noise Christian Daycare & Learning Center 679 Roosevelt Trail, Windham, ME 04062 Overview We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Child Care Center Director to lead our amazing team and oversee the daily operations of our nondenominational faith-based center licensed for 100 children. Our center has provided early childhood programs to surrounding communities since 1999 and we have been voted top childcare provider for over ten years in a row! The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education administration and experience working with young children professionally, ensuring a nurturing and educational environment for children. This role requires an individual who can effectively manage all aspects of the daily onsite operations and foster relationships with families and staff while maintaining compliance with all licensing and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities Oversee the daily operations of the childcare center, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for children Develop and implement educational programs that meet the developmental needs of children Manage staff recruitment, training, and performance evaluations to maintain a high standard of care Collaborate with parents and families to support children’s growth and development Ensure compliance with state regulations and licensing requirements Maintain accurate records related to enrollment, attendance, and staff qualifications Maintain up-to-date files for all children and staff according to state regulations Maintain and utilize a waitlist for filling openings, provide tours for new families, and maintain an updated roster Foster a positive team culture that encourages professional development and collaboration among staff Maintain and carry out administrative tasks detailed in monthly/annual calendar Keep accurate and organized records Qualifications Strong early childhood educational background, qualifications should include at least ONE of the following: A Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Arts (BA/BS) in Early Childhood Education; OR a BA/BS in a Department-approved related field with 18 credit hours in Early Childhood Education and three years direct childcare experience; OR an Associate in Arts/Associate in Science (AA/AS) in Early Childhood Education and three years of direct childcare experience; OR an AA/AS in a related field with 18 credit hours in Early Childhood Education and three years of direct childcare experience; OR current CDA as awarded by the Council for Professional Recognition or a Maine State approved credential, with five years of direct childcare experience; OR seven years of experience and 180 hours of training in topics listed in Rules for Licensing-Section 7 (F)(4)(e); OR meet Level 5, 6, 7, or 8 on Maine Roads to Quality Career Lattice Proven leadership and strong interpersonal and administrative skills Proficient in Microsoft Office applications Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate staff Strong communication skills to effectively engage with parents, staff, regulatory agencies, and community organizations Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks in a timely manner while maintaining attention to detail Excellence and pride in job performance with strong work ethic and dependability Integrity and high professionalism a priority We invite qualified candidates who are committed to providing high-quality childcare and education to apply for this rewarding opportunity!
