Early Childhood Training Specialist 3.5 3.5 out of 5 stars Cape Girardeau, MO 63703 Early Childhood Training Specialist THRIVE Birth to Five – Community Partnership of Southeast Missouri Program Support Network (PSN) Full Time/Term/Grant Funded The Early Childhood Training Specialist will be responsible to conduct Best Practice Trainings and Technical Assistance visits throughout the 22 counties of southeast Missouri. Conducting and facilitating evening and weekend clock hour trainings will be required as well as travel throughout the service area. The use of a personal vehicle is required and will be reimbursed monthly. In addition, staff will provide short term, targeted support during technical assistance/modeling visits, customized by training topic to model the practical application of the topics covered during the trainings for child care providers in licensed and licensed exempt centers, family homes, group homes, and child care providers with six or fewer children that have a Child Care Provider Subsidy Agreement in the Southeast Region to strengthen high quality, responsive, and relationship-based child care. Required Qualifications An Associate’s Degree or higher in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Family Studies, Social Work, or a closely related field, and have two years of professional experience working with children ages birth through five years; or Possess a current Child Development Associate (CDA) credential (infant/toddler, preschool, or family care) and have at least 3 years of professional experience working with children ages birth to five years. Preferred Qualifications A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Family Studies, Social Work, or a closely related field. Primary Responsibilities Ability to create and facilitate early childhood training topics to licensed and licensed exempt child care providers in the the service area. Trainings are conducted on weeknight evenings and Saturdays. Ability to build rapport with child care teachers and child care directors to facilitate group trainings. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills Travel extensively within a twenty-two county service area of the southeast region. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
