Job Description
Director Cobleskill Campus Child Care Center Cobleskill, NY 12043 Reports directly to the Board of Directors, the Director is responsible for the overall day-to-day operation and administration of the Center. Director is expected to maintain an atmosphere of professionalism, the highest standard of care and ensure team alignment and foster good morale. Candidate must be willing to learn and study the Reggio Emilia approach. Must be familiar with and ensure the organization remains in compliance with all
NYS OCFS
regulations and conforms to NAEYC standards: Has strong organizational and leadership skills Responsible for staff supervision Maintains a high-quality program Responsible for administrative systems, ensuring that resources, money, space, and equipment are used to their maximum effectiveness. Monitors income and expenses of the Center; develops budgets and grant proposals with administrative manager. Maintains positive communications with parents and the college and works on continuing a positive reputation in the community and campus. Maintains open communication with the Board of Directors, attending all Board of Directors meetings as requested and preparing regular reports to the Board. Works with staff and appropriate agencies to maintain Center licensure and accreditation. Evaluates and manages staff, ensuring that any and all processes protect the Center from legal issues. Will continue to foster professional development of all staff. Maintains and utilizes Brightwheel application for communication, children records, immunizations, and waitlist.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in early childhood education, child development, elementary education or early childhood special education. Three years full-time teaching experience in a child day care center, family or group family day care home or other early childhood program AND one year of experience supervising staff in a child care program or a related field of work OR New York State Children’s Program Administrator Credential AND three year’s full-time teaching experience in a child day care center, family or group family day care home or other early childhood program AND one year of experience supervising staff in a child care program or related field of work Preferred Qualifications (in addition to at least one of the above minimum requirements):
