Location:
Philadelphia, PA Salary:
$60,000.00 USD Annually – $65,000.00
USD Annually Description:
A Preschool Director oversees the daily operations of a childcare center, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for young children. They manage staff, develop curriculum, maintain compliance with regulations, and foster strong relationships with families. The role requires leadership, organizational skills, and a deep understanding of early childhood education. This job will have the following responsibilities: The Director will be responsible for the comprehensive operational and educational oversight of the center, including
Financial Management:
Overseeing billing and collections, and ensuring profitability through effective payroll management.
Staff Management:
Supervising staff assignments, maintaining appropriate child-to-staff ratios, and tracking compliance.
Software Utilization:
Proficiently using childcare management software (e.g., Procare or similar systems) for daily operations.
Family Engagement:
Maintaining a visible presence during daily drop-off or pick-up hours to connect with families and foster strong relationships.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Minimum:
Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, or Human Services.
Preferred:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education. Minimum of 2+ years of successful experience as a Director (not Assistant Director) managing a large childcare center (10,000+ sq. feet with over 100 children). Experience working with low-income minority families receiving state subsidies is highly preferred. Demonstrated experience with childcare management software, billing, collections, and staff ratio management.
