Daycare Assistant Director Tiger Tots Daycare & Learning Center Tallassee, AL 36078 Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Daycare Assistant Director to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and safe environment for children, supporting their growth and development. This position involves working closely with children of various ages, assisting in daily activities, and ensuring that each child receives the attention they need to thrive. As a Daycare Assistant Director, you will assist the Director in the day-to-day management of the daycare center, ensuring the safety, well-being, and educational needs of children, while also supporting staff and maintaining compliance with regulations. •Pay is determined based on experience and qualifications•
Duties Staff Supervision:
with hiring, training, and supervising classroom teachers and staff, ensuring they follow established policies and procedures. Taking calls and messages from employees, reviewing and approving/denying time off requests, resolving staff conflict and concerns. Daily scheduling of start times, breaks, and end times.
Curriculum Implementation:
Collaborating with the director to develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum, observing classroom activities to assess children’s progress, and ensuring lesson plans are established and followed.
Parent Communication:
Communicating regularly with parents regarding their child’s development, addressing concerns, and providing updates on center activities.
Facility Management:
Maintaining a safe and clean environment, ensuring compliance with licensing requirements, and overseeing facility maintenance. Reporting any necessary repairs to the director and following up on them. Ensure each classroom is always in ratio according to minimum standards.
Administrative Tasks:
Assisting with record-keeping, attendance tracking, incident reporting, and managing paperwork related to center operations. Ensuring that every child is signed in and all subsidy children are scanned in and out each day. Approving incident reports in Procare. Discussing incidents with parents.
Child Development:
Observing children’s behavior to identify individual needs, providing support and interventions as needed, and working with special needs children if necessary.
Emergency Response:
Responding to emergencies and following safety protocols in accordance with state regulations.
Quality Assurance:
Monitoring classroom practices to ensure high quality child care is delivered, observing staff interactions with children, and implementing improvements as needed.
Child Development Knowledge:
Comprehensive understanding of child development stages, learning theories, and best practices in early childhood education by seeking additional training as needed and required.
Staff and Compliance Knowledge:
Familiarity with state licensing regulations and safety standards related to childcare. Ability to communicate/enforce regulations effectively with center staff. Experience Candidates should possess experience working with students or children in a daycare or educational setting.
Preferred qualifications include:
Background in childcare, especially in a daycare setting. Familiarity with toddler care and infant care practices. Knowledge of childhood development principles.
