Competitive salary and benefits The WISE Preschool teacher has exclusive responsibility for the activities of the classroom in developing and delivering appropriate curriculum and for ensuring, to the fullest extent possible, the safety and wellbeing of the children.

Duties and Responsibilities :

Organize learning materials and resources. Develop and implement lesson plans. Provide developmentally appropriate preschool education, as well as small group instruction, to meet varying needs of the children and their different developmental and linguistic level. Plan language and literacy-based activities for preschool children. Use a variety of activities and instructional methods (songs, stories, media, structured games, art, outdoor activities, etc.) to motivate and stimulate children’s abilities Prepare/plan materials for classroom, small group, and individual sessions. Provide care for the children including basic hygiene and basic first aid as needed. Assist children with toileting and potty training. Maintain an open line of communication with parents and provide appropriate information. Document progress in each child’s notebook every day. Assess students’ performance and progress to ensure they are mastering the skills on regular basis. Monitor children’s interactions and nurture cooperation and sharing. Collaborate with Speech/Language Pathologists and Listening and Spoken Language Specialists. Provide discipline consistent with WISE policies and procedures. Cooperate with administration staff. Perform clerical duties including attendance, progress reports, copying materials, maintaining databases, and other school related information. Follow and comply with teaching standards and safety regulations. Complete education and training requirements regarding the Listening and Spoken Language communication mode.

Excellent knowledge of child development and latest education theories and practices. Creative and artistic teaching abilities. Teaching and organization skills. Patience and flexibility. Strong communication skills. Minimum Education, Training and Experience Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, elementary education, or special education. Experience in preschool setting preferred. Excellent oral and written skills. Required Licenses and Certificates Alabama Teaching Certificate (Required)
