TEACHER – EARLY CHILDHOOD PROGRAMS

Closing Date The duties include but are not limited to: Monitors instruction and coaches students in using effective teaching strategies.
Works with Building Leadership Teams to improve student performance.
Assists in the implementation of effective strategies and programs to foster student success and teacher effectiveness.
Assists The Alabama Department of Early Childhood Education, Teaching, Learning and Assessments and Pre-K school staff in curriculum development.
Facilitates development and implementation of Early Childhood Programs for Pre-K and Career and Technical Education.
Adheres to Bishop State Community College procedures and guidelines for dual enrollment
Assists staff in reviewing, evaluating, selecting, and securing appropriate instructional materials.
Facilitates appropriate staff development activities.
Promotes public awareness of and for all Pre-K and Early Learning programs including a career technical student organization
Performs all other duties as assigned by the Federal Programs Executive Director and Academic Affairs.

QUALIFICATIONS

Appropriate Alabama Teacher Certification (Early Childhood Preferred)
Master’s Degree with 18 graduate semester hours in Early Childhood Education
Minimum of five (5) years of early childhood classroom experience
Knowledge and skills in early childhood education
Knowledge and expertise in scientifically based strategies and instruction
Knowledge and skills in the following areas: Curriculum and Instruction, Assessment, Evaluation and Research, Human Relations, Home-School Relations, Classroom Management and Discipline
Knowledge of technology
Strong Leadership Skills Duty Days 187

Salary Range:

From/To As per State Matrix, depending on degree and experience. Bachelor’s beginning pay – $47,600.00.
Additional Job Information •Applicants selected for certified positions must have undergone an ABI/FBI criminal history background check (fingerprinting administered through sites selected and approved by the MCPSS and State of Alabama Education Department) and been declared suitable and fit to teach under state law. Applicants selected must also pass a drug-screening test via forms provided by Human Resources during the selection process.•
