As a substitute, you will step in to provide care and instruction when our regular teachers are unavailable, ensuring a seamless and nurturing experience for the children. Responsibilities Childcare and Supervision Supervise and monitor the safety of children in the classroom, on the playground, and during activities. Implement daily schedules and routines as directed by the lead teacher. Provide age-appropriate care, including feeding, diapering, and assisting with personal hygiene. Engage children in activities that promote their physical, emotional, and intellectual development. Observe children for any signs of illness, distress, or special needs, and report concerns to the supervisor. Classroom Management Maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating classroom environment. Follow established classroom management techniques and discipline policies. Prepare materials and supplies for activities as needed. Assist with transitions between activities. Document daily activities and incidents. Additional Responsibilities Implement planned activities and adapt spontaneously based on children’s needs and interests. Supervise and engage with children in age-appropriate activities. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment. Provide compassionate care, including feeding, diapering, and emotional support. Observe and report any concerns regarding the health or behavior of children. Foster positive interactions and build rapport with children, parents, and staff. Exercise independent judgment to address immediate classroom needs. Bring your own creativity and unique skills to engage the children. Qualifications Experience working with children is required.. Reliability and punctuality are essential. Ability to adapt to changing situations and schedules. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities. High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to pass a background check. Current CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain. Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for children. Must meet all state licensing requirements for childcare staff. Skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Patience and empathy. Ability to follow instructions and work independently. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to handle stressful situations and remain calm. Schedule 8:00 am – 4:00 pm(30-minute break provided) Flexible availability to work on short notice. Shifts may vary depending on the center’s needs.
