Classroom Lead Teacher (ABCSS/EIDT)
Reports To:
Early Childhood Coordinator/Clinic Director/ABCSS Director/ABC Asst.

Co- Teachers and Substitutes Job Summary:
Teacher will follow the curriculum of the Directors of each program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & BASIC DUTIES
- Works directly under the supervision of Directors.
- Acknowledges that all Preschool classrooms shall meet the criteria for becoming an “approved” Early Childhood program under the Arkansas Child Care Approval System Rules and Regulations, Ark. Code Ann. § 6-45-103 and 106. An overall score of 5.0 is required for the ERS which is applicable to each classroom (pending update from ERS-3).
- Participates in the assessment of each child in his/her classroom using the proper assessment tool with initial 45 days of attendance
- Enters attendance in the state system – COPA – weekly.
- Participates in the implementation of the Individualized Treatment Plan (ITP) to ensure the maximum treatment of the patients served.
- Participates in the development of daily lesson plans as directed by the Classroom Lead Teacher.
- Participates in completion of classroom billing via deTASO.
- Assists in maintaining classroom supplies.
- Maintains visual supervision of the children at all times.
- Ensures a positive emotional climate for the children by showing respect to children and adults through a willingness to help others, by maintaining harmonious interpersonal relations, and through use of appropriate and approved discipline techniques under the guidance of the ECDS or Assistant Director.
- Assists in maintaining an environment conducive to preventative discipline.
- Speaks in a well-modulated, pleasant, and caring voice to children, parents and staff.
- Attends and actively participates in job-related center functions.
- Represents the program to parents, visitors, and the public in a positive way.
- Maintains a clean, safe, healthy, and sanitary learning environment for children by working under the supervision of the ECDS or Assistant Director to ensure that children are kept clean, clothing is changed when necessary, and toys and other materials are disinfected each day.
- During periods of physical activity, ensures that active involvement is maintained with children to promote gross and fine motor development.
- Immediately reports any information regarding health and safety concerns to the Assistant Director or Nurse.
- Completes 30 hours of relevant and approved in-service trainings annually from date of hire.
- Is familiar with the company’s policies, procedures and guidelines, as well as those requirements set forth by regulatory agencies, including AR Child Care Licensing and the AR Health Department.
- Displays concern for the rights of children and families served by the clinic.
- Reports for work dressed appropriately and complies with company policies regarding dress code.
- Ensures confidentiality of children and employee information. Responds to internal and external requests for information according to clinic policy.
- Assists the ECDS or Assistant Director with documentation.
- May be asked to perform some housekeeping/janitorial functions.
- May perform other related and non-related duties, as assigned.
- Maintains regular and punctual attendance.
- Completes tasks in a timely manner.
- Know and follow regulations regarding reporting of neglect and child abuse.
- Maintain First Aid, CPR, SIDS/Shaken Baby, and Food Handler’s certifications annually.
- Follow the KidSPOT Attendance Policy and Progressive Discipline Policy
- Follow the KidSPOT Cell Phone and Social Media Policy.
- Follow dress code as outlined in the KidSPOT Uniform Guideline
- Upholding the duties and responsibilities outlined in the employee manual, ABCSS guidelines, Medicaid manual, KidSPOT Policy and Procedure manual, this contract, and the minimum licensing manual. You agree to read the documents carefully and abide by all the policies
- Consent for random drug screenings
- Agree that while employed by KidSPOT, they will not engage directly or indirectly with any other school, childcare facility, or EIDT program. They also agree not to solicit KidSPOT students to leave to attend another school as in compliance with the Arkansas Non-Compete Law.
- Maintain confidentiality of personal salary compensation packages and employment related details.
- Employees are required to obtain a minimum of 30 hours on continuing education per year and participate in trainings mandated by
ABCSS. POSITION REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
Education/ Certification:
- Prek-4 Certified Bachelors Level
- Bachelors Degree with 12 hours of education or CDA preferred.
- Experience/ Knowledge required Prefer at least one year of successful experience in a classroom setting working with developmentally at-risk children or equivalent combination of education and experience.
