Our early childhood program focuses on play-based learning, social-emotional development, and fostering a lifelong love of discovery. We are seeking a dedicated, passionate, and experienced Head Teacher to lead our teaching team and champion the growth and development of young learners.
Position Overview:
The Head Teacher is a vital leadership role within our center, responsible for creating a high-quality learning environment, mentoring staff, supporting families, and ensuring compliance with state regulations and early childhood best practices. This individual will lead by example, inspire excellence, and support a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. Duties Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that supports children?s physical, emotional, cognitive, and social development. Supervise and mentor teaching staff, providing guidance, feedback, and professional development. Foster a warm, inclusive, and respectful classroom culture that values diversity and individual learning styles. Build strong relationships with families through regular communication and partnership. Ensure the classroom operates in compliance with state licensing regulations and center policies. Maintain accurate records, assessments, and documentation of children’s progress. Collaborate with the center director and leadership team to support overall program goals. Requirements Current Head Teacher Certificate with the State of CT OEC Minimum 2 years of experience working with young children, including leadership or supervisory experience. Knowledge of early childhood development, curriculum planning, and state licensing requirements. Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills. CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
