Position Overview
STOWE Early Learning Center is seeking a passionate and dedicated Head Start Teacher to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate learning environment that supports the growth of the whole child—socially, emotionally, physically, and cognitively.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement engaging, standards-based lesson plans.
Foster a safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive classroom environment.
Use developmentally appropriate practices to support children’s learning through play, exploration, and hands-on experiences.
Conduct ongoing assessments and observations to individualize instruction and monitor progress.
Collaborate with families, support staff, and community partners to promote family engagement and student success.
Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with Head Start and district guidelines.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (required).
CTDOE Early Childhood Certification.
Experience working in a Head Start or early childhood setting preferred.
Strong understanding of child development and early learning best practices.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
