Early Childhood – Lead Teacher/Curriculum Specialist The Riverfront Children’s Center, Inc. Groton, CT 06340 Summary The Curriculum Specialist is responsible for supporting teaching staff in delivering a quality education curriculum that supports the learning goals of the center. The Curriculum Specialist assists the Curriculum Coordinator with the ordering of supplies and materials to conduct the lessons. The Curriculum Specialist works with the Teachers to ensure that they are prepared to deliver the lesson plans and that the lesson plans meet the curriculum guidelines. S/he assists the Curriculum Coordinator professional development plan for the center and individual teachers. S/he also assists with the quality improvement activities including accreditation self-study. Duties Mentor/Coach teaching staff supporting curriculum that meets the learning goals of the center and supports cognitive development of the children. Work with Teachers to develop lesson plans that support curriculum; ensure they have access to appropriate materials. Review Teacher notes and comments and make suggestions for improvement. Collaborate with Teachers to prepare means of sharing curriculum with parents. Conduct classroom/staff/student observations Stay abreast of new developments in early learning curricula; introduce curricula improvements. Follow all center policies and state regulations. Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement. Requirements Bachelors Degree in ECE or relevant field with 12 ECE credits Candidates must pass required state background check Demonstrated experience working with children or excellent customer service Upon hire must have documentation of a physical examination and a TB Test, to be repeated every two years Benefits Free heath insurance for the base tier.
